Polyurethane foam, or PU foam for short, is a widely used material. Based on its rigidity, PU foam can be divided into two types: flexible and rigid.
Flexible polyurethane foam, also known as polyurethane sponge or foam, is renowned for its excellent elasticity. This material is commonly used in various cushioning materials, such as car and ship seats, furniture sofas, mattresses, and clothing padding, providing people with a comfortable sitting and tactile experience.
Rigid polyurethane foam, on the other hand, is known for its rigid texture and excellent thermal insulation properties. This foam uses a closed-cell structure and low thermal conductivity blowing agents, making it highly effective in the field of thermal insulation. Whether it's exterior wall insulation in buildings or temperature control in cold chain logistics, rigid PU foam plays a vital role.
Both types of PU foam, with their respective advantages of comfort (soft) and practicality (rigid), demonstrate the versatility and wide range of applications of polyurethane materials.
