Fitness mats are made from seven types of materials, including PVC, TPE, and natural rubber. PVC yoga mats are affordable and use a foaming process to create anti-slip and cushioning properties, but they may have a strong odor and require ventilation before use; their surface is also not smooth and is difficult to clean. NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) combines heat resistance and abrasion resistance, is affordable, lightweight, and portable, but has less elasticity and is usually thicker. TPE is an environmentally friendly material combining the properties of plastic and rubber; it is lightweight, highly elastic, and relatively easy to care for, but it is relatively prone to wear and tear, and has a price advantage. Suede comes in 3mm and 1mm thicknesses; the 3mm thickness is sun-resistant and water-resistant, while the 1mm thickness is foldable for portability. PU is soft, abrasion-resistant, water-resistant, and breathable; it is easy to care for, quickly absorbs sweat, and is anti-slip in both dry and wet conditions. Natural rubber is a natural and environmentally friendly material with good anti-slip properties, durability, and resilience, but it is more expensive; those with rubber allergies should use it with caution. EVA has a strong odor and is generally not recommended.
